Sophie Deng, L.Ac., Dipt.Ac, P.T.

Sophie is a graduate of the physical therapy program from University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1993.  She has worked as a licensed physical therapist in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient & outpatient hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and private practice settings.  Sophie has gained her extensive physical therapy experience in treating many musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

In pursuit of more knowledge and skills to help patients from a holistic approach, Sophie completed her training and received her Master's Degree in Acupuncture from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2001.  Sophie is a licensed acupuncturist and a Diplomate of Acupuncture, certified by the National Certification Board for Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM), formerly the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). 

Sophie went on to start her own practice and founded Holistic Acupuncture and Physical Therapy Center in 2004 with a mindset of providing individualized, one-on-one patient care.  Over the years of clinical practice, Sophie has touched and improve  the quality of life for many patients.  

Sophie has always kept abreast of the latest knowledge and skills in the field of both physical therapy and acupuncture through numerous continuing education classes. Sophie is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association ( APTA) and a member of the Maryland Association of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine ( MAAEAM), formerly known as Maryland Acupuncture Society (MAS).  Sophie believes in life time learning and improvement both professionally and personally!
